We are coming up to the end of month which means that it is time to fete the great Frank Chu and celebrate his birthday.
Is the regular Alternative Rock band Addison going to have a BBQ in Oakland like last year OR is 12 Galaxies going to have an event.
Perhaps we can BBQ with Frank during the day and enjoy some regular budweisers then at night we go to 12 Galaxies.
Either way we need to have both Gavin and Jerry to declare it Frank Chu day.

Thu, March 17, 2005 - 9:10 PMA Motion to Designate March 24th, 2005
FRANK CHU’s DAY in San Francisco!
Be it resolved on this 24th day of March 2005 the city and county of San Francisco honors 12 Galaxies investigator and cautionary sign-waver Frank Chu on his 45th birthday - in Earth years.
Whereas San Francisco is a stage for believers and skeptics alike to meet, mix it up, and come to new understandings of themselves and the universe
Whereas Frank Chu has been a fixture on the streets of San Francisco for untold years - initially a panhandling mendicant, and more recently a Cassandra-figure decrying corruption "behind closed doors"
Whereas the presence of a unique individual such as Frank Chu – known by millions who either see him live on the streets of San Francisco, or follow local news broadcasts and media and note his omnipresent appearance at demonstrations, public gatherings, parades, and other news-breaking events – is remarkable for his persistence, knack for both staying on message and showing up day in and day out. If 80% of success involves simply showing up and sticking to a core set of self-consistent beliefs which he hoists around at great effort and sacrifice for others to see in the rocket’s red glare of history, Mr. Chu is one of the hardest-working media mavens in San Francisco today. His work reflects the life of this city and exemplifies an aspect of whimsy that we must never taken for granted, for missing it we risk finding ourselves with less humor and joy in our lives.
Whereas San Francisco is a city with unrivalled reputation for indulging eccentric and idiosyncratic behavior so long as it enhances an appreciation for the genius loci, that special wisdom of place which in the itinerant presence of street stalwart Frank Chu is imparted an irresistibly cosmic perspective.
Whereas those who have taken the trouble to acquaint themselves with Mr. Chu find comfort knowing he has our backs covered when it comes to the dubious machinations of zegnatronic and orthokeratological rocket societies. Less enlightened communities might be inclined to relegate the gadflies and Emperor Nortons of their time to the margins. Whereas San Francisco is a city that knows how, a clarion caller such as Frank Chu instead has captured the local imagination and earned this moment of civic honor.
Whereas the act of recognizing the vital force of any given person is an albeit bureaucratic recognition in time, it is nonetheless a pleasant and agreeable occasion in which the business of the city is redirected from mere nuts and bolts considerations to pay tribute to the ineffable, the cosmic, and the inspiration of this peri-celestial messenger whose birthday it is today.
Whereas other principalities are able to rename planetary objects to honor distinguished cultural figures, San Francisco and its public servants instead are limited to memorializing figures of admiration and respect by “playing with time” - as we are doing in this instance – making it a day of honor – March 24th, 2005 being Frank Chu’s Day. -

If you do mind I am going to post it on the Craigslist calender.
We must have a ground swell of support to honor Frank. -

Sat, March 19, 2005 - 1:43 PMYeah, if you circulate this text be sure to list these tribe coordinates:
frankchu.tribe.net
for the Chu-curious.
I delivered it to Sup Mirkarimi at his art reception yesterday. He liked it and pocketed the flyer saying after the half-mast brouhaha this would be the perfect follow-up. Tongue I assume firmly in cheek. Feel free to lobby him at
Also slipped copies through the mail slots of a few other sups to add to this soupcon. Here is info on them all, and the Gavinator, so feel free to copy and paste the tract above in your missives.
